The first performance of The Mikado took place on March 14th 1885. It is appropriate that it is exactly 125 years later, to the day, the International Gilbert & Sullivan Association will hold its annual Association Spring gathering and will celebrate this important date with a weekend filled to the brim with all things Mikado!
We are pleased to return to the wonderful Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa in the fabulous Lake District.

Saturday March 13th
10.30 am - Optional Lakes cruise
(subject to minimum numbers) Take in the beautiful Lake District scenery aboard a sightseeing lake cruise. You also have the choice of Setting off to explore the Lakes in a traditional rowing boat!
2.00 pm - "Oh Joy Oh Rapture!"
We are delighted to welcome Ian Bradley who will talk about "The Mikado: its genesis, impact, popularity & phenomenon".
7.30 pm - Dinner and full performance of The Mikado presented by Ian Smith and friends.
10.30 pm - Community singing in the Garden Room and Bar.

(How many different productions have you seen?) The one and only Thomas Round will be on hand to help us out with some of them and no doubt recall some of his treasured Mikado moments.

The Costs are:
Dinner Saturday night, bed breakfast, lunch and the full entertainment programme: £170.00 per person sharing a twin/double or £180.00 per person in a single.
Additional accommodation is available on Friday and Sunday evenings for guests wishing to extend their stay. Accommodation (bed and breakfast) Friday or Sunday nights is £80.00 per person sharing or £85.00 per person in a single.
