Accommodation Packages

We are offering special packages to Buxton for four nights: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday or three nights:  Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The hotels we are working with are:  The Old Hall; The Lee Wood; Alison Park and Portland.  All centrally located and within easy reach of the Opera House.  Please see below for a description of eacch hotel.

You will meet a Festival Director and your expert G&S host who will also give a short presentation on G&S and the Festival on the wednesday or Sunday mornings.

For THREE NIGHT PACKAGES you enjoy three theatre tickets; two fringe programme tickets; one half-day tour; one carvery dinner in the Club House, three cabaret club tickets and VIP reception.

The Palace Hotel

We have a slightly different package at the Palace Hotel.  Here we offer two three night packages - Sunday, Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The package price includes: dinner, bed and breakfast in the hotel; three theatre tickets; two fringe programme tickets, one half-day tour; three cabaret club tickets; VIP reception on Tuesday evening.

Palace:   per person in a twin £425  - single room supplement £60.00

The Lee Wood Hotel, Buxton
Set in its own grounds, this elegant Georgian hotel is situated only a few minutes walk from Buxton Opera House and the town centre.  A very special, family-run hotel with an excellent restaurant, bar and lounge.  The 38, individually appointed and comfortable en-suite bedrooms are all equipped with electronic locks, radio alarm, safes, hospitality tray, hair dryer, trouser press, telephone and satellite TV.  Complimentary wi-fi is available throughout the hotel with hard-wired broadboand access from the bedrooms.  There is a lift to all floors.

The Old Hall Hotel, Buxton
Reputed to be the oldest hotel in England and the
one-time residence of Mary Queen of Scots, the Old
Hall simply oozes History and charm.  Situated just across a leafy Georgian square and two minutes walk away is Buxton Opera House.  The hotel provides every comfort, excellent cuisine and the high technology expected from the best hotels of today.  The
comfortable bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are all equipped with satellite TV, hairdryer, radio, direct dial telephone and hospitallity tray.  There is a lift to all floors.

The Portland Hotel, Buxton
The 2* Portland Hotel is centrally located across the road from the Opera House and within easy walking distance of the centre of Buxton.  All 22 bedrooms are ensuite and each room has colour TV, hot drinks tray and telephone.  The accommodation is to a good quality with a pleasant and comfortable restaurant.  Service is paramount.

Alison Park Hotel, Buxton
The Alison Park Hotel is close to the Pavilion Gardens
and Buxton Opera House and within easy walking
distance of the centre of Buxton.  It is situated in its own grounds in a quiet position on temple road.  Guests can expect comfortable 2* accommodation combined with a friendly and informal atmosphere.  All bedrooms have TV, direct dial telephone and tea/coffee making facilities.
