Important information for performing societies | Orchestra | Scenery | Technical Liaison form | Lighting Rigs | Stage Plans
Competing societies may use festival scenery free of charge for their performance(s) in Buxton. Through the festival's scenic director, Paul Lazell, we can offer traditional based sets for all of the Savoy Opera's including Cox and Box, Thespis and The Zoo.
We are not including plans for specific shows here as Paul will be happy to discuss your individual production requirements with you personally and will endeavour to alter or amend his scenery to meet your society's own needs.
Please contact Paul Lazell directly on 07885 489913 to discuss your needs.
Societies are allowed to bring their own scenery if they choose to. Copies of the stage plans must be submitted to the festival secretary at least 6 weeks in advance of the festival. You are reminded that all materials must be flame retardant and that any items needing to be hung meet with the theatre's own specifications (contact Guy Dunk, Stage Director, Buxton Opera House technical@buxtonopera.co.uk for further information).
The festival will contribute up to £250 for societies wishing to bring their own scenery.
Please advise the festival as quickly as possible if you plan to bring your own scenery.
